ABOUT ME
I am Ambri Williams, born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I am a National Board Certified Counselor and have over 8 years of counseling experience. I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University in 2014. I relocated to North Carolina in October 2021 after co-owning a family bakery in Chicago, Illinois for 3 years.
I bring an educational and therapeutic environment for my clients who are struggling with mental health related concerns and relationship issues whether it is related to parenting, family, or couples counseling. I utilizes an electric approach to create change and accomplish goals. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing).
EXPERTISE
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina (LCMHCA) as well as a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC #341639). I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois in 2014. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia in 2010. I’ve provided community based clinical counseling services, crisis intervention and psychosocial assessments. I have also provided community-based counseling services to youths in foster care with the Department of Child and Family Services in Chicago, Illinois and in San Antonio, Texas for two years I provided social services to youths in foster care with the Texas Department of Family Protective Services. In addition, I served as the clinical supervisor of the Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) team at a non-profit organization in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina. I work with children, teens, and adults treating mental health concerns including anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, grief or loss, ADD/ADHD, and developmental disabilities. We also work with families, parents, couples, life transition or adjustment issues, medical/health challenges, and LGBTQA+ population.
COUNSELING APPROACHES
My work is based on multiple approaches including Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, Multisystemic Therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing). I have experience with a wide age range of clients which include individual, group, and family therapy. I also implement a strengths-based approach which emphasizes an individual and/or family self-determination and strengths while collaborating with the counselor to create change and accomplish goals.
My counseling style is both educational and therapeutic. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment which promotes self-awareness, empowerment, growth, and change. I encourage collaboration amongst clients and counselors to ensure the most effective treatment, achieving the most desirable outcomes and improved mental health.

FEE SCHEDULE
- Initial Assessment/Consultation – $170
- Individual 40-45-minute session – $105
- Individual 46–60-minute session – $140
- Family 45–60-minute session- $160
- There will be $105 no-show/late cancellation fee for missed appointment unless cancel/reschedule appointment with a 24-hour notice in advance.
